The last few weeks have been busy for the MWFFC. We have had the pleasure of attending several events with like-minded organizations to share about forest farming opportunities in the Midwest. Some of these events included:
Southern Ohio Forest Farming Conference- hosted by Rural Action and United Plant Savers in Rutland, Ohio
Perennial Farm Gathering- hosted by the Savannah Institute in
Madison, Wisconsin
K.C. Farmers Coalition Work-and-Learn- hosted by the KC Farm School at Gibbs Road and Kansas City Black Urban Growers Inc. in Kansas City, Kansas
We also assisted in a forest inventory for an ongoing research project investigating the effects of forest management on non-timber forest products. This research is being conducted by Raelin Kronenberg, a PhD student at the University of Missouri and Research Specialist and the Lincoln
University of Missouri.
